Kissmetrics Review: Conversion Rate Optimization At Your Fingertips

If you’re doing any sort of A/B testing and want to find out which users on your site are most likely to convert, you will need to use a tool designed to track the conversion rates on your landing pages.

Kissmetrics, from Neil Patel, is just that sort of tool. It is intuitive, very easy to use and implement, user-friendly, and does not require technical skills to set up. This tool will help you understand how your sales funnels are working to convert visitors to leads or sales.

It will also help you track user behavior on a multi-session basis, and analyse that in a visual way. Want to help understand where your visitors are falling through your sales funnel and leaving your website? Kissmetrics will help you do that. It helps you analyze how your visitors interact with your website over time.

You can identify which visitors are most likely to convert and focus your marketing efforts on the source of traffic that brings in the most conversions.  You can generate a list of people that fell through the cracks and target them through other campaigns.

You can even get a list of real people, and track how they use your website, by entering criteria that is relevant to you. Kissmetrics will also help you monitor which visitors have changed their behaviors over time.

The dashboard will help you keep track of all your most important metrics so you can stay on top of your conversion ratios. You can track an unlimited number of cohorts and see how your visitors are using your website in real-time.

According to the Kissmetrics blog, here’s how they primarily use properties to segment people.

“When you segment people, you’re putting them into various groups based on a property. This is beneficial because you don’t just get one big bunch of people.

You see how each segment performs, and you can compare them against each other. If you get enough data, you’ll see clear winners and losers. When you get these insights, you’ll know where to focus more time and money because you’ll see what works.”

The only limitation with Kissmetrics seems to be its reporting feature. While you can track preset funnels, you cannot find funnels that you’re not aware of, and that might mean you’re losing out on conversions that you don’t even know are possible. The tool also does not track demographic or location data.

However, before you shell out the money for this tool, ask yourself what you’re looking to track on your website. You should know that Kissmetrics is not a plug and play solution. It requires you to implement your campaigns strategically in order to track the metrics you need.

If you want to find out, with a good degree of accuracy, where your visitors are leaving the site, so you can tweak your sales funnel and improve conversions, Kissmetrics is probably the right choice for you.

If you run an ecommerce site, you’ll be able to gain an insight into your business that helps you understand your website visitors and what they’re looking for.

You can even connect your visitor’s sessions over multiple devices, create a micro funnel and find the exact pages where would-be customers are dropping off.

Kissmetrics tracks three types of devices:

  • Computer – Visitors who came from a laptop or desktop computer.
  • Smartphone – Visitors who came from a smartphone running Windows, Android, iOS, etc.
  • Tablet – Visitors who came from a tablet, such as Surface, iPad, etc.
  • Unknown – Visitors who came from a device, the type of which cannot be detected by Kissmetrics.

You can track much more than bounce rates, going so far as to measure customer value, conversion rate and revenue.

The Revenue Report gives you a clear visual picture of your revenue. It shows you all the channels, lined up next to each other, that are bringing in money. That way, you can compare not only the highest revenue channels, but also those that have the lowest churn, highest lifetime value, and so on.

With their Click To Track feature, you no longer have to write any code to set up analytics. You can simply use your mouse to add events by clicking on key elements of your website.

But Kissmetrics does more than just measure analytics. Kissmetrics Engage helps you set up calls-to-action (CTAs) that contain the exact triggers your audience is primed to respond to.

Whether you want to use a newsletter lightbox for new visitors, a unique banner for a specific audience, or show a special offer to a hesitant buyer, you can set it up and test it easily with no technical knowledge.

You can target visitors specifically by their referral source, or by their actions. You can choose exactly what on site behavior your visitors need to exhibit in order to see your campaign, with five goal-based design templates.

Intended for small and mid-size businesses, Kissmetrics can help you improve conversions and sales. Most users of the software also report that they provide excellent support, even for novice users.

When you need to implement a Conversion Rate Optimization campaign and make sure that your sales funnels are working as best as they can, Kissmetrics can help you achieve your CRO goals.

  1. One thing I’m always worried about is how to track click of CTA button and the real number of orders.

For example: if the CTA button is Buy button and when users click it, it redirects them to Paypal where they can cancel the payment.

    Can KISSMetric handles that?
