Where To Find A Good WordPress Developer

Where To Find A Good WordPress Developer

Finding a good WordPress Developer can feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Perhaps the biggest issues that come with finding a developer is finding someone who is both, true to his title and good with his customers.

However, an even bigger issue is probably knowing where to start your search. Before we go into where to start your search, let’s start with places to avoid.

Avoid These Sites In Your WordPress Developer Search

Okay, so I’m going to deliver a smackdown that many are like to get upset with me about. Here it goes…

  • Craigslist
  • Freelancer
  • Odesk
  • Elance

Now before you get upset with me, let me just state that I know that these places do, on occasion, have great developers. I’m not denying that by any means. However, it can be like a shot in the dark.

You may get your money’s worth, and you may get the short end of the stick. Why waste your time trying to find someone there when you could start your search at the top of the talent pool?

There are two places that you can find some top notch talent, yet seldom ever think about it.

A One Stop Shop for all WordPress Needs – Themes, Plugins as well as Services.

If you want a theme developed by WordPress guys who have demonstrated that they know what they are doing, as well as being great with customers, then start your search with this awesome WordPress Store.

You can contact them to hire them for WordPress Jobs.

CSSIgniter has a SERVICES section on their site too. But few know about it.

And though some WordPress sites may not have a specific section outlining that they are willing to do personalized theme or plugin developments, if you really love their work you can always contact them to ask it they offer such services.

2) WordPress Blogs

The second place for searching the talent pool would be to check out popular WordPress blogs. WordPress blogs usually have posts or guest posts done by multiple people with a wide array with WordPress knowledge; many of these being developers.

As an example, Code Tuts, (part of the Envato Network) has plenty of developers that moonlight as bloggers on the site. An added bonus for checking out these posts is that you can get a real feel for who you may be working with to develop your theme.

And many who develop themes often have an Author Bio with a link to their site to showcase their work to give you a deeper knowledge of what they’re done in the past.

If you’re on the search for a top notch WordPress Developer, start your searches in the right places and you may just hit the motherload of awesomeness!

  1. Hi Aerial,

I think freelancing websites are more profitable to use. As companies and professional bloggers may demand for more money for developing a website.
