Back from the Mumbai WordPress WordCamp

Back from the Mumbai WordPress WordCamp

This is Karthik, Akshay, Pallavi, Alexander, Shilpa and Megha at WordCamp Mumbai.

We are back from our WordPress WordCamp weekend and we have so MUCH to share..

The Mumbai WordCamp (15th and 16th March) began on a very power-packed note with – “An Analog in A Digital World” – A session by Ramya . A very good non-techie way to kickstart the WordCamp.

Saurabh Shukla was a great host.

Karthik‘s session was a myth-buster of sorts for the GNU GPL licenses. It discussed various freedoms associated with the GPL License. It was punctuated with huge rounds of laughter from the audience. So much so that someone suggested he take up stand-up comedy as an alternative career. But we do hope Karthik doesn’t take this suggestion too seriously ! We need our daily dose of laughter around the office too. Check out his WordCamp Mumbai GPL Presentation here.

Some of the sessions that especially stood out –

Rahul Bansal‘s session over Easy Engine shared how this engine could be used to create WordPress sites easily on the Nginx servers. A powerful concept.

The WordCamp converged with a highly entertaining talk by Annkur (price baba) over SEO.

The sessions were very well timed. We would like to acknowledge the efforts by Aditya Kane, Alexander Gounder and the entire team of volunteers and organizers – who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to put together the WordCamp. A perfectly coordinated 2-Day WordCamp. After 2 days of bonding with everyone, we couldn’t help feeling a little sad when it ended.
