The WordPress 3.8.3 release according to WordPress is meant to fix a bug in the WordPress 3.8.2 security release.
The bug in WordPress 3.8.2 was related to the “Quick Draft” tool – with the “Save” function not working as expected. Drafts would disappear resulting in loss of your content.
WordPress team released a fix for this with WordPress 3.8.3.
However, the WordPress 3.8.3 release is not completely without its share of problems.
– Users hosting with SiteGround complained about some issues – but those seem to have been sorted out now.
– Caching plugins seem to cause the whole admin area to freeze up – and the only solution to this seems to be to disable these plugins manually via the back-end
– The QTranslate plugin is incompatible and gets disabled automatically after your site updates to WordPress 3.8.3
A lot of complaints poured in about images too – users are unhappy about how their images are appearing on their sites.
The silver lining is that WordPress 3.9 is just around the corner – should be released any time this week.
Meanwhile, do share your experience with the WordPress 3.8.3 update. Have you had any such problems ? Do you like that it handles your upgrade automatically ? Or you are not too fond of such surprises ?
