If you are a web designer or a web developer or even a webmaster then I would like you to introduce to Codester.

Codester is marketplace where you will find premium PHP scripts, app templates, themes and plugins and create amazing websites & apps.

Today, I’m going to review Codester and will provide you will all the insights about it.

Codester Review: The Introduction

codester homepage

Codester is fast growing marketplace which was started by a small group of people to cater to web designers, developers and webmasters. It is a neatly organized marketplace where you find scripts and codes, app templates, themes, plugins and graphics. Codester targets developers and designers but I think, they have a slight inclination towards developers.

The concept of Codester is similar to that of Envato but they offer a straight out commission of 70% to the sellers, which I think is great.

Let’s discuss in detail what they have on offer.

Codester Review: Buy Scripts, Code, Templates, Plugins, Themes and more

Scripts and Codes

codester scripts and codes section

As on today, Codester has 214 Scripts and Codes under this section. The Scripts and Codes section is further categorized into PHP scripts, Javascript, Python, Java, Ruby, C & C++, C# and VB.NET.

Right now, the PHP scripts category has the most number of products, but I think Codester team are working actively to keep a balance.

If you are looking to for some scripts and code, do check out their Scripts and Codes Section.

App Templates

Codester have around 429 Mobile App Templates which you can use to develop mobile apps quickly. This category includes app design templates as well as ready-code of different type of apps, like puzzle game, photo sharing app, etc..

App Templates section is further categorized into 9 categories:

  • iOS
    • Applications
    • Games
  • Android
    • Applications
    • Games
    • UI Kits
  • Unity
  • Corona
  • Ionic
  • Buildbox
  • Construct 2
  • Cordova
  • Titanium

Website Templates and Themes

Codester currently offers 420+ themes, most of which are HTML, WordPress and PrestaShop themes.

Apart from this they also have themes for:

  • Joomla
  • Magento
  • Drupal
  • OpenCart
  • nopCommerce
  • Shopify
  • WooCommerce
  • Muse
  • Tumblr
  • Ghost

However, a few of them like Drupal, Muse, Ghost and nopCommerce have zero themes or one theme. But, I like the idea that they are ready for those themes also and want to grow.

You can go to the Website Templates and Themes Section to check out some themes.

Plugins and Extensions

codester plugins and extensions

With around 150+ plugins and still growing, Codester has some the most essential plugins in the market. Their Plugins and Extensions Section has 10 categories.

  • WordPress
  • Joomla
  • WooCommerce
  • Drupal
  • Magento
  • PrestaShop
  • osCommerce
  • X-Cart
  • OpenCart
  • nopCommerce

I personally feel that this section has the capacity to grow and they should look to add more plugins or extensions.

Graphics

The last section is the Graphics Section. Codester, even though a developer inclined marketplace does not disappoint any designer. It has over 400+ graphic elements in various categories.

  • User Interfaces
  • Game Assets
  • Icons
  • Logos
  • Product Mockups
  • Print

Most of the graphic elements are logos and prints.

Codester Review: Product Licenses

All the products on Codester have a regular and extended license. Regular license is a normal license which allows you to use the product for one project. That could be either personal or commercial. Also with the regular license you cannot resell the item.

Extended license allows you to use the product for unlimited sites whether personal or commercial. However, with extended license you can distribute/sublicense the source files as part of a larger project but not resell it “as-is”.

Codester to Sell Your Products

As I mentioned in the introduction, Codester has one of the best commission policies as a marketplace. As per my knowledge, I haven’t seen any marketplace giving 70% commission to product owners or sellers.

This is certainly a tempting proposition to those who wants to sell their product online.

Also, they don’t have contracts which bar the seller to sell the product on another site at lower or same price. The payments are made at the end of the every month via PayPal or Wire transfer.

Final Thoughts

Codester is certainly a marketplace which I will be visiting again and again now. It has a lot to offer and a long way to go too.

Check out Codester yourself and let us know your thoughts.
